Virak chan

Virak Chan Is The Founder And Advisor Of The Center For Sustainable Water. He Is A Water And Sanitation Specialist For The World Bank Group’s Water Global Practice Based In Cambodia. He Has Over 15 Years Of Experiences In The Field Of Water, Sanitation, And Hygiene, Youth Development And Community Livelihood Development. His Main Expertise Is Capacity Building, Social Enterprise Development, Social Research, Governance And Project Management. He Has Applied His Knowledge And Skill In Many Aspects In WASH And WRM Sector.

Virak Obtained Three Master Degrees, Master Of Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) At University Of Queensland In Australia And Another Is Master Of Business Administration (MBA) And Master Of Development Management At Norton University In Cambodia. He Has Participated In Various Intensive Trainings And Workshops On Water Leadership, Water Resource Management, WASH Related, And Social Enterprise Development.

Dr. Brian McIntosh

Brian Is A Highly Experienced Professional, Inter-Disciplinary And Cross-Cultural Water Management Educator, Having Led And Managed The Development And Delivery Of Water Management Masters In The UK And Australia Responsible For Educating Over 550 Graduates Now Working Globally. He Has Designed And Delivered Professionally Oriented Postgraduate Water Management Programs And Courses To Participants From 86 Different Countries.

He Has Significant Expertise In Strategic Program Development, Curriculum Design, Marketing And Recruitment As Well As In Operational Management And The Design And Delivery Of Learning Sessions. His Practice As An Educator Focuses On Using Participant-Centred, Problem-Based And Experiential Approaches To Developing Skills And Knowledge In Program And Course Participants.

A Recipient Of International And National Research Awards, Dr. McIntosh Has Research Interests In The Management Of Water Sector Innovation, And In The Structuring And Management Of Collaborative Processes To Improve The Design And Usefulness Of Decision And Information Support Tools For Complex And Contested Areas Of Water And Environmental Management. His Research Work Has Involved Extensive Academic And Industrial Collaboration With Partners From Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Netherlands, Scotland, Slovenia, South Pacific, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia And The United States.

Dr. McIntosh Is Also An Experienced Business Leader And Manager, Having Directed The Education Program Within The IWC Since November 2010, And, As A Board Member Of The IWC Alumni Network (IWCAN) Having Played A Significant Role In Leading IWCAN From Infancy To Becoming Financially Self-Sustaining.

Technical Advisor (WRM)

Dr. Chantha Oeung

Dr. Chantha Oeurng Has Received A Ph.D In Hydrology, Hydrochemistry Soil And Environment From The University Of Toulouse, France. He Has Obtained Master In Water Resources Engineering From The University Of Liège, Belgium And Bachelor Of Rural Infrastructure And Water Resources Engineering From The Institute Of Technology Of Cambodia. He Has Also Received A Bachelor Of Education In English From The Institute Of Foreign Language, Royal University Of Phnom Penh.

Dr. Chantha Oeurng Has Spent One Year At The University Of Canterbury New Zealand, As A Postdoctoral Fellow In Water Resources And Climate Change. He Is Also A Fulbright Scholar At The University Of California Berkeley Through The Fulbright US-ASEAN Fellowship Program. Currently, He Works At The Institute Of Technology Of Cambodia As A Vice Dean/Senior Researcher At The Faculty Of Hydrology And Water Resources Engineering.

His Main Research Focuses On Environmental Changes From Water Infrastructure Development, Land Use Change, And Climate Change On Water Resources Of The Mekong’s Tonle Sap Lake Basin.
