HY Sopanharith
My name is HY Sopanharith. A fresh graduate from Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) major in Hydrology and Water resources engineering. Passionate about clean water supply and plumbing. Meanwhile, I have learned GIS, Matlab, Plumbing, Solid waste management, AutoCAD, Water treatment, Waste water treatment.
Heng Seangmeng
Recently, I joined a program called Youth Leadership in WASH Action (YLWA) cohort 2, organized by the Center for Sustainable Water. I will work as an intern training in a private water operation for 6 months. My duties are to observe the site operations and monitor the water treatment system and water distribution system to ensure that water is safe for people to use in their daily life.
YOS Chantharath
I’m Rath, and I come from Kandal province. Currently, I am pursuing a master’s degree in water resources management and environmental studies. I appreciate this major for its ability to ensure access to clean water for people in all seasons, including the rainy and drought periods, and for its role in protecting the environment, often overlooked by others.
Mork sopheap
My name is MORK Sopheap from the Kampong Chhnang Province. I am twenty-three years old. I reflect a varied personality including ambition, and the qualities of generosity, and thoughtfulness. I am also a well-determined and vigorous individual, yet pleasantly calm. On the other hand, I would like to improve my skills and learn more. I promise to work hard on the work and apply all of the knowledge I have learned in school as well as my prior experience. I’ll finish the work on schedule and at a reasonable rate.
Sun Bunneth
Sun Bunneth is my full name, I come from Kratie province (small province but most kindness peoples and beautiful country). Actually, I have been living in Phnom Penh almost 7 years to study and also working. On the other hand, I have been completed my bachelor’s degree on chemical engineering since 2020 and continue master’s degree on water and environmental engineering under supported from AFD. After that, I worked at X-water on wastewater treatment and move to QA engineer, then join program with CSW as a YLWA.
Pha sreyleak
My name is Pha Sreyleak from Kratie Province. I am a fifth-year student at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia, specializing in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering. My ambition, generosity, and thoughtfulness drive me to address water-related issues in our country. I aim to work in water resources management, environmental consulting, or sustainable engineering to positively impact the environment.

I am Chin Ech from Oddar Mean Chey Province, and I graduated from ITC in 2021. I was a Women in WASH Scholarships 2019- 2021 (WiW) and also studied with Enfants du Mekong NGO from 2016 to 2021. I am currently teaching Fluid Mechanics at Svay Reing University (2023-2024), where I also prepare course syllabi and teach ArcGIS. Previously, I worked at DBD Construction Co., Ltd., where I created plumbing system drawings, inspected site progress, and prepared reports and BOQs. As a Water and Environment Researcher at ITC in Kampot and Sihanouk Provinces, I collected data for the 4C water project and presented my research progress. My experience with WaterAid involved database management, clean water promotion, proposal writing, and sanitation and hygiene training. At WE-Venture Co., Ltd., I designed household water supply systems and conducted water quality testing using the Jar test machine.
NHET Virakniron
I am very interested in water resource assessment and want to enhance my skills in this area. This program is crucial for understanding water availability, quality, and distribution. It helps identify potential shortages, pollution sources, and conservation needs, and it supports the development of sustainable water management strategies. In Cambodia, many people overlook the importance of water. With a growing population and increasing water demands, effective water resource management is essential. Water pollution from industrial discharge, agricultural runoff, and improper waste disposal threatens both human health and ecosystems. This program is vital for ensuring a sustainable supply of clean freshwater and maintaining ecosystem health for future generations.
Ponleu Pech
My name is Ponleu Pech, and I am from Kampong Speu Province. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Water Resources Engineering at Chulalongkorn University. I worked as a Project Assistant for two years, collaborating closely with my supervisor on various research projects. After completing this program, I will have a deeper understanding of how to make water clean and safe. I aim to use this knowledge to help address water issues in Cambodia.
Si Chheng Im
Joining YLWA will allow me to improve my professional and soft skills. Moreover, I will also be able to gain valuable experience related to the WASH sector and build connections, that can provide a meaningful impact for my career path. To solve the major issue of PWO about water treatment technology. Provide the community with accessibility to safe water and adequate sanitation.

Korng is a chemical engineering student with a passion for learning and innovation. He is open-minded and thrives under pressure, and he is always eager to learn new skills. He is also interested in photography and national and international news, which he reads to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies. Korng believes that chemical engineering is a field with a bright future, and he is excited to be a part of it.
